Sidneys Quest

I very much enjoyed creating the look and setting the mood for Sidneys Quest. a Board game designed by Tomas Falemo and Jenny Holf at Five o’clock games.

My assignment was to create a fantasy world for it. This is a classic strategic and competitive game with complex mechanisms and tough choices to make. So the vision was to add cute characters that could carry the story of the game. Sidneys quest grew into a magical, random and fun place.

I started the creative process with creating a base of all characters and environments as vectors to get the right setup, structure and layout of all the elements of the game. Feedback and visions from the game designers made the characters go through lots of changes befor ending up the way they did. My goal was to create individuals that was not human nor animal, androgyn, and versatile wile still from the same creature family. I had a lot of fun in the process.

In this project I did everything from the smallest icons- tokens and symbols, to choice of font for rules and other text, logo design, iconography to guide the players, etc etc.
